Mentoring and Volunteering Opportunity:

Do you want to be a mentor for Use your finance and business skills to help the migrant worker community, and together, letโ€™s help them "step up"!

This programme is organised under the aegis of the Alliance of Guest Workers Outreachโ€”a movement of Hope Initiative Alliance.

Objectives: To help migrant workers in Singapore learn entrepreneurial skills for their home country environment with the support of family and friends while they remain employed; and help migrant workers plan for secondary income and achieve potential financial freedom.

This training programme comprises business plan development and seed funding (e.g.: micro-financing). Each worker will be supported by a mentor to ensure the feasibility and rationality of the plan.

We need your support as a mentor.

Your role: We need mentors from the finance/business community to help individuals in this journey to stress test the business plan, suggest alternate ideas, assist in loan application, and check in to make sure they are on track.

We may also need your involvement in the panel to provide feedback on the various business plans presented in a "competition style" format.

Dates: 1 Sep to 1 Dec, (9 Sundays, excluding holidays for Deepavali and pooja)

Time: 5.30pm to 6pm

Location: Sembawang Recreation Centre and online

Note: Mentors do not need to physically attend every week and after the initial sessions. They can find a mutually convenient time to work with their mentee (s) and/or work virtually with the mentees. Physical inputs are encouraged. By the end of the programme, there may be continued touchpoints to help the mentee (s) track the project.
